My investment philosophy is simple…
“Find what wants to happen and help it.”
Personal Portfolio
I’ve been there
I think like a founder…because I’ve been a founder. I started my first company when I was 24. With revenue of $1M in the first year of business, it was a great learning experience and first exit (through acquisition). Then I started another company. It failed. Then another. Failed again. In 2015 my most ambitious and successful company was founded. The entrepreneurial journey has taken me to live in San Francisco, Puerto Rico, and across the Midwest. Startup competitions…accelerators…the best (and worst) investors…I’ve experienced all the highs and lows.
Now, I work to be the investor I wish I would have had.
Fintech
When I sold my first company, it was discovered that my business banker forged my signature on a contract. The bank admitted it but told me I’d have to sue them to get my money back. It turns out, they had every major law firm in the area on retainer to keep customers like me from taking action against their fraud.
This crazy situation was a blessing in disguise as I learned about the difference between banks and credit unions and never looked back after joining the credit union movement.
Now, my passion for entrepreneurs and my love of credit unions has come together at Curql, a unique fund backed by credit unions that invests in fintech solutions. As a General Partner and Principal of the $500M Curql Fund, I engage with and invest in fintech that partner with credit unions.

Interests
Outside of fintech, I’m personally interested in lots of different technologies and spaces: from innovations in publishing, to health and wellness, to sewing and crafting or any other kind of innovative tech solution.
Building in esports or gaming? Let’s talk! This is a fun space (I even worked with Gary Vaynerchuk’s esports team for a while) and we’ll have a lot to connect about.
B2B SaaS? Most of my investments have been in fintech, insurtech or enterprise technology, especially when the potential customers are in regulated industries.
Consumer? We should meet. I like D2C products, e-commerce, and even hardware. As an inventor with 2 issued patents, I am not scared off by ideas that haven’t been tested yet. I want to hear your vision for the future!
